Sleepy Hollow Healthcare offers a home-like setting

If your loved ones become too frail or ill to care for themselves, the Sleepy Hollow Healthcare Center offers a pleasant place for them to live right here on Columbia Pike between Annandale and Bailey’s Crossroads.
The center has signed on as a Silver-level sponsor of the Taste of Annandale, and 10 employees will run in the Taste of Annandale 5K Race.
The Sleepy Hollow Healthcare Center offers long-term care for seniors and people with chronic illnesses, short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and end-of-life respite care. The center has a total of 222 residents.
The facility, formerly known as Golden Living, was acquired by CommuniCare in May 2017. Since then, it has become a four-star facility, due to the high quality of its care and customer service, says Activities Director Roxanna Williams.
A memory care unit for clients with dementia, was added, a dialysis unit will be installed later this year, and there are plans to renovate all the rooms.
Residents are treated to live entertainment, games, and other fun activities and are taken on outings to farmers’ markets, shopping malls, movies, church services, and other places. The theme for the center’s upcoming Halloween party is super heroes.
“It’s hard to lose your independence,” says Williams. “We try to keep up the routines people had before they came here. We try to keep it as much like home as possible.”
