Sponsors are critical to a successful Taste of Annandale

The Taste of Annandale is just over a week away, and it all seems to be coming together. We’ve got dozens of restaurants, food trucks, other vendors, and music and dance groups signed up – and several special events are in the works.

It’s all happening Oct. 1, 10 a.m-6 p.m., rain or shine, along Tom Davis Drive. The street will be closed to traffic.

The day opens with the Taste of Annandale 5K Race, starting in the parking lot of the Annandale United Methodist Church at 6935 Columbia Pike. Online registration is under way. The cost is $30  up to Sept. 30, and $40 on the day of the race.

The ACCA Child Development Center is working on a full schedule of events for the children’s activities at the Taste of Annandale. We’ll have more information on that within the next few days, as well as a list of the food vendors and entertainers.

– Burke & Herbert Bank, Virginia’s oldest bank, has served Northern Virginia for generations and is still operated by the Burke family. The Annandale branch is located at 4235 Annandale Road.

– Francis & Murphy, at the corner of Little River Turnpike and Backlick Road in Annandale for over 30 years, offers men’s business attire and specializes in tailoring and custom fits. If you need men’s or women’s suits or other clothing altered, this is the place to go.

– Congressional School is a co-ed independent day school that serves more than 320 children ranging from infants to 8th-graders on a large campus on Sleepy Hollow Road. The school, accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools, encourages students to explore, embrace challenge, and grow, through an innovative academic program in a diverse and inclusive community. It also serves about 2,000 students in a summer camp.

– Smiles in Springfield, the dental practice of Dr. Quang Cao Tran, at 5412 Backlick Road, Suite D, offers a full range of services, including family, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry; periodontal therapy; dental implants; tooth replacement; porcelain veneers; and teeth whitening. Dr. Tran is known for a gentle touch and painless procedures.

– Westminster School is a private school at 3819 Gallows Road, Annandale, serving students in preschool through grade 8. It offers advanced academics and small class sizes, and its mission includes character development, leadership, the arts, and community service.
