Sports bar to open in Seven Corners

A bar and grill called Ruta 50 is coming to the former Fish Basket space at 6142 Arlington Blvd. at the Willston Shopping Center in Seven Corners.

Ruta 50 will basically be a sports bar, and manager Rodrigo Martinez hopes it can open in late July or August – in time for the runup to the World Cup. But that depends on when the ABC and other permits are approved.

The menu hasn’t been finalized yet but will probably include standard bar food and Tex Mex items. There will be a full bar. Entertainment might include a DJ and karaoke.

Hours haven’t been set, although Martinez suggests it might open for the late lunch crowd and close at 1 a.m.

The interior is being upgraded but no major renovations are being done.
