St. Michael statue back on Evergreen Lane

The statue of St. Michael that went missing from its pedestal
at Mi Suk Kim’s house on Evergreen Lane Sept. 3 has mysteriously reappeared.
Someone dropped it off by the front door in the middle of
the night, says Kim’s son, Seon Choi, a student at Saint Michael School in
Annandale. The family was surprised that it turned up but glad to get it back. The statue was in good condition, except for some damage to its left
foot.
It has been repaired and mounted on a new stone base on the same
pedestal in the side yard at 4303 Evergreen Lane, Annandale. A new fence has
been installed in front of the house.
According to Kim, a doctor with a gyn/ob practice, someone had stolen the statue at night during a thunderstorm. Before she obtained it in late 2011, it had graced
the entrance of St. Michael Catholic Church for decades.
