Stein Mart offers women’s and men’s clothing, women’s shoes
and accessories, and housewares at marked-down prices. Men’s shoes will be
added in August, says store manager Melanie Rusin. She describes the store’s concept as
“upscale discount.” Brands include Michael Kors, Anne Klein, Robert Graham, Peck & Peck, and Nina Campbell.

There are about 270 Stein Mart stores nationwide and while
they are pretty similar, there are some minor differences in the type of
merchandise carried. Rusin said the Falls Church store is “more higher end”
than the Stein Mart in Leesburg where she used to work.
The store’s Memorial Day sale features 40 percent markdowns
on some items. Shoppers who join the “preferred customer” program or sign up
for a credit card will receive coupons via email. Stein Mart is open 10 a.m.-9
p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.
