Stores robbed in Bailey’s Crossroads, Lincolnia

There were two commercial robberies and one pursuit incident this week in Mason District, the Fairfax County Police Department reports. 

An employee at the Ross Dress for Less store at Landmark Plaza in Lincolnia saw three suspects taking multiple items and attempted to leave without paying shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 16. When the employee confronted the suspects, they pepper-sprayed her, causing minor injuries. 

Dick’s Sporting Goods at 5716 Columbia Pike in Bailey’s Crossroads was robbed at about 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 14. 

Two women and a man entered the store, put merchandise in a shopping cart, and attempted to leave without paying. When an employee confronted them, they assaulted the employee and ran away with the merchandise. No injuries were reported.

Police officers attempted to stop a 2020 Toyota Camry for a traffic offense at about 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 13 on Arlington Boulevard at Manchester Street in Seven Corners. The driver failed to stop, resulting in a pursuit. Carol Diaz-Pinto, 22, of Hyattsville, Md., was arrested. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and eluding.
