Students invited to take part in environmental film festival

Students are encouraged to participate in the Green Inspirations Environmental Film Festival next month during Earth Week at the Cinema Arts Theatre in Fairfax.

Green Inspirations is sponsored by the Fairfax County Restoration Project (FCRP) and is aimed at raising the profile of Earth Week in Fairfax County. People who are unable to participate in Earth Day events or want to learn more about local environmental programs and activities can come to Cinema Arts, in Fair City Mall on Little River Turnpike, during that week.

Students (in K-12, university, or graduate school) who have created short, two to five-minute films on environmental topics can submit them FCRP. For more information about submitting films, contact [email protected].

The student films will be shown in between the feature films at Cinema Arts on Thursday, April 20, through Sunday, April 24, from about 3:30 p.m. through closing. There will be opportunities for networking (with pizza!) at the Mamma Lucia restaurant next door and group discussions after the films. Environmental organizations will display informational materials in the lobby. If youre interested in sponsorship opportunities, contact Amy Gould of FCRP, [email protected].
