Stuff the Bus is back this Saturday
Stuff the Bus is back this month at two locations in Mason District Sept. 12 and Sept 26:
- George Mason Regional Library, 2001 Little River Turnpike, Annandale.
- Bailey’s Upper Elementary School, 6245 Leesburg Pike, Seven Corners.
A Fastran bus will be at both locations 10 a.m.-3 p.m. to collect food donations for the food pantry operated by Annandale Christian Community for Action (ACCA).
For the past nine years, Fairfax County has hosted Stuff the Bus events twice a year to collect donated food for community residents in need. Those events were held after the winter holidays and in the summer, when donations to nonprofits tend to drop off.
The demand for food assistance has greatly increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, so there have been several additional Stuff the Bus events in 2020.
During the last two food drives in May – at 21 locations throughout Fairfax County – residents donated 33.6 tons of food for nonprofits.
People who are unable to donate in person can contribute to ACCA or other nonprofits online.
