Subway owner launches fundraiser to support first responders
Subway
franchise owner Emil Ranakusuma created a fundraiser to provide meals to
healthcare workers and first responders, even though he’s been struggling to keep
his own business afloat since the COVID-19 pandemic took hold.
Ranakusuma
owns four Subway restaurants, including two in Annandale (7120 Columbia Pike and
7857 Heritage Drive) and one each in Vienna and the Tysons Corner mall.
Subway on Columbia Pike is offering online ordering for
delivery or customer pickup and is also selling produce, such as tomatoes and
green peppers.
The Healthy Subs for Our Health Heroes GoFundMe campaign created by Emil and Olivia Ranakusuma will
continue to raise funds to provide food for those on the front lines of the
COVID pandemic. They’ve so far raised $450 toward their goal of $2,020. Each
$10 donation will provide four six-inch subs.
“No
one escapes the impact of COVID-19,” the GoFundMe page states. “Most of us stay
at home to keep social distance, but there a lot of us out there that are on
the front line, who work hard day-in and day-out to care for the sick and to make
sure our community is safe.”
“Together,
we can support each other in this trying time,” it continues. “We
can show our gratitude to our amazing heroes at the hospital, the police
department, and the fire station by providing them with nutritious healthy
meals, while helping a small business stay in business.”
WAY TO GO SUBWAY!!
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
I bought a sub there yesterday – gotta support local businesses as best as we can as they are supporting our community!
Thank you so much for all donations and supports. May God bless all of you…
Your generous deeds are beyond selfless. Emil and Olivia keep up this giving
spirit.
