Supervisors raise Fairfax Connector fares

A Fairfax Connector bus makes the rounds in Annandale.

Fares for the Fairfax Connector bus network will increase by about 12.5 percent on July 29.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved the change on June 16 to match the recent fare increase implemented by Metro.

Base fares for Connector buses will increase from $2 to $2.25. Fares for seniors and disabled customers will go from $1 to $1.10. Express bus fares will increase from $2.10 to $2.40.

This will be the first Fairfax Connector fare increase since 2017. New farebox stickers will be installed over the next two weeks.

The fare increase is expected to generate $1.1 million in additional revenue.

  1. 1.1M is not much of a haul for the latest green woke grift. Maybe it’ll pay for part of a new worthless study.

    1. I agree. With how much the poor are hurting with inflation, I’m not sure why the supervisors would take from so many who can’t afford it to make a measly million a year. Why are we taking from the poor? What are the poor subsidizing? I thought the trend around here was to make public transport free. Seems unconscionable.
