Support the Stuart HS band on ‘Tag Day’

The J.E.B. Stuart band performs in a competition in 2011.
When J.E.B. Stuart High School students come to your door
asking for donations for the school’s music programs on “Tag Day,” Sept. 8,
please be generous.
The school’s award-winning bands, chorus, and orchestra perform
throughout the year at home football games, competitions, concerts, and other
community events.
Because the Fairfax County Public Schools budget doesn’t
cover all the expenses for these activities, the music programs  have to raise funds directly from the
community. Once a year, on what is known as Tag Day, student volunteers go door
to door in an effort to reach every home within the Stuart attendance area.
Your tax-deductible donation to the Stuart Band Boosters, a
nonprofit organization, will help support uniforms, instruments, other equipment,
special music, first-rate guest instructors, and transportation to events and
competitions. One hundred percent of the money collected goes to the Music
Department.
If you live in an apartment or condominium (where the Band
Boosters cannot send student teams) or are not home on Tag Day, please mail
your donation to: J.E.B. Stuart High School Band Boosters Inc., P.O. Box 1640,
Falls Church, Va.  22041. Checks should
be made payable to “JEB Stuart High School Band Boosters Inc.
 If your check has
your name and address on it, and you donate $25 or more, you will receive a
receipt for your records.

  1. Tag Day is a national event – please be generous when any of the area schools knock on your door Saturday or send a check to the high school of your choice to support the band, orchestra, and choral departments.
