Sushi restaurant coming to Pinecrest Plaza

People wait in line for the grand opening of Lidl at Pinecrest Plaza in September. [James Albright]

Pinecrest Plaza is getting another new restaurant. Akeno Sushi Bar & Restaurant is going into a 1,615-square-foot spot between Taco Rock and T-Mobile.

Taco Rock is planning to open later this month. The other new restaurant in Pinecrest Plaza, Grandaddy’s Skillet, opened briefly in November, then had to close for mechanical repairs. They hope if the exhaust ducts get fixed in time, they can reopen by Christmas.

    1. Sorry, I should have been clearer that I was glad it just glad was in the shopping center. Definitely lots of good sushi in the area from my personal fave Ariake a bit west to Yamazato on the east.

  1. For the many people who live within walking distance of Pinecrest, this is great news. Many of us like to pair a coffee, lunch, or dinner with a stroll through Green Spring Gardens park…I many have to do that twice a day the way things are going.
