Fairfax County police arrested a woman May 1, shortly after midnight, for assaulting a homeowner in the 7500 block of Little River Turnpike in Annandale. Officers found Kassandra Iriarte, 25, of Annandale, in the hallway continuing the aggression, the Fairfax County Police Department states. Public engagement, transparency lacking in selection of new police chief, NAACP charges

Kevin Davis [NBC Washington] The Fairfax County NAACP is disappointed with the appointment of Kevin Davis as the new chief of the Fairfax County Police Department and charges the selection process excluded meaningful public participation, transparency, and accountability.  Board of Supervisors Chair Jeffrey McKay announced the appointment of Davis April 23. 

Man arrested for reckless driving, child endangerment, weapons

The Fairfax County Police Department’s weekly crime report includes an incident in Annandale involving a vehicle pursuit, weapons violation, and child endangerment. Officers noticed a 1996 Honda Accord being driven recklessly at about 2:30 a.m., April 12, on Backlick Road at Braddock Road. The driver refused to stop, resulting in a pursuit. 

Man attacks people at senior center

The Lincolnia Senior Center The Fairfax County Police Department reports the following recent crimes in the Annandale/Mason District area:  A man entered a building at the Lincolnia Senior Center being used as a hypothermia shelter (4710 N. Chambliss St.) shortly before 7 a.m. on March 20 and began assaulting several people.
