The Taj Restaurant, offering food from south India and more,
opens Sunday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m., at Barcroft Plaza on Columbia Pike.

It’s owned by Mohamed Hossain, a native of Bangladesh who owns Paak Bazaar, the Indian grocery store next door that’s been in the shopping
center for about 15 years.

Taj will offer items from a mix of cuisines, including
kabobs, gyros, burgers, and sweets, as well as curry, biryani, and samosas,
says his daughter, Dulary Hossain, a student at George Mason University. The
restaurant is mostly carryout, but there is seating for about 18 diners.
The first customers who arrive tomorrow before 4 p.m. will get
a free appetizer. The restaurant is open 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10-11
on Friday and Saturday, and 10-9 on Mondays. It will do catering, too.

  1. WOOOOOP! FOOD IS GREAT. HIGHLY RECOMMEND GUYS!!
The Lahori Chicken Tikka & Chicken Tikka Masala is bomb! The customer service is really nice and welcoming. Sometimes the restaurant family members are here, its very comforting and nice to be here.

It is also a nice place to get some work done, with a fresh cup of Masala Chai. Highly recommend this place!
