Take a survey on your priorities for a new police chief

Fairfax County is seeking public input on the qualities and priorities for a new chief of police. Access the survey here

The current Fairfax County police chief, Edwin Roessler Jr., is retiring in February 2021. 

The brief survey asks such questions as “What do you consider the most important public safety issues in Fairfax County?” and “What type of experience should the new police chief have?” The survey is open through Friday, Jan. 8.

The county will also host focus groups with key community organizations as part of the search process. 

PoliHire, the search firm engaged by Fairfax County to recruit a new police chief, lists the salary as $114,129 to $222,047.
