Tandoori Nights – More than just an Indian restaurant
What if you’re in the mood for Indian food, and your partner wants Mexican? Tandoori Nights, a new restaurant at 7137 Little River Turnpike in Annandale, is the place to go.
Tandoori Nights is basically an Indian restaurant – with a twist. There’s a separate menu with Mexican items, and the Indian menu has a few Chinese items and a selection of “Katmandu specials,” as well as butter chicken, lamb curry, tandoori chicken, goat vindaloo, paneer makhani, and other traditional Indian fare. Most of the entrees $8 to $13.
The restaurant is a partnership of chef Shyam Lama, who is from Nepal, and Amjad Khanzada, a native of Pakistan. Both are currently Annandale residents.
The Nepalese items include chicken or veggie momo (dumplings) and chicken or lamb chola (meat marinated with ginger, garlic, and spices).
Tandoori Nights offers a lunch buffet – with tandoori chicken, lamb, vegetables, chickpeas, rice appetizers, dessert, and homemade naan – for $7.99.
There’s karaoke in the evenings. Tandoori Nights also provides carryout, delivery, catering, and party hosting.
The restaurant opens daily at 11 a.m. The Indian menu is available until 10 p.m. Diners can order Mexican food until 2 a.m., Thursday through Sunday.

The food here is excellent. Especially the lunch buffet. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean. Will definitely go here again.
I'm picky about Indian food but this place is pretty good.
What time does the karaoke begin in the evening? We would like to avoid, otherwise sounds like a great new addition to the neighborhood
Does anybody know if they accommodate gluten free?

I've been thinking about checking this place out, and I'm all for variety and innovation, but suddenly it sounds more like a food court than a restaurant. Not exactly enticing.
Just came back from an attempt to dine there. I think they are trying to do too much with their menu. Nothing tasted authentic–butter chicken and chicken bindaloo both tasted like tomato paste with some seasoning. Chicken fried rice did not taste like the Chinese food the menu claims to serve. Apparently the place starts to rock at 10:00 pm on Thurs, Fri and Saturday when they have karaoke. The whole place is just…confusing. The decor is beautiful and the staff and manager are lovely. They need to decide what kind of restaurant they want to be because the fusion gig isn't working for them. Disappointed 🙁
Just chiming in. My buddy and I ordered carry out from here last night. Aside from the fact that they deliver, which is GREAT, we found their Indian to be oddly different but altogether pretty good. I'm not sure if I could pin down what made it seem that way, sauces were more soupy and garlic-y, but it was good. I'm just pumped to have a delivery option that isn't Chinese or pizza. We will have to try them in person soon.
Oh and they are definitely far cheaper than any other Indian place out there, which is pretty nice. Nearly every dish was only $10, and the samosas were only a dollar.
