Taste of Annandale draws huge crowds

The Taste of Annandale was a huge success, drawing more than
5,500 people to Tom Davis Drive Oct. 13 for food, entertainment, and fun.
About 130 people participated in the Taste of Annandale 5K Race,
there were about seven food trucks, a dozen other food vendors, and nearly 50 tables
hosted by sponsors, businesses, organizations, and vendors. The performances on the showmobile represented a diverse mix of culture.

Among the highlights: The children’s program attracted loads of families to the ACCA Child Development Center for performances and activities. The beer garden
hosted by Audacious Aleworks was full all day.  The pet contest hosted by Chico’s
Natural Pet Market drew dozens of dressed-up dogs.

Thank you to everyone who performed, sponsored, ran in the 5K,
hosted a booth, volunteered, and showed up.
The crowds were so thick at times, it was difficult to walk. If
there’s going to be another Taste of Annandale next year, we’ll need more space.

  1. The beautiful Saturday afternoon fall weather helped made this a great and fun event! Thanks to all who made it happen.

  2. I hope there will be one, it looks like its catching on. When are we gonna get the new people there. Wish it would stay open later.

    1. I meant the media. This deserves media attention to get a positive image out about Annandale. Hopefully this may help it discourage the classification of the dump. We need to undump the dump into one of the most desirable places to live work and play in Mason.

    2. Craft brewery at the abandoned antique and jewelry site, please! Not sure if the site is zoned for it currently, but the location is brilliant. In the middle of several main drags with the ability to pull in people from surrounding communities. It could be a real unifying force for Annandale, not to mention an upgrade from title loan, cash4gold, and other similar establishments that seem to spring up like weeds in our town.

  3. The fire station open house was a fantastic addition especially with the helicopter out back. That contributed to the crowds. Taste of Annandale was a blast! Very well done.

  4. We went to both the Merrifield Fall Festival and the Taste of Annandale and I must say, we enjoyed the latter way more! I hope there is definitely another one in the future!

  5. What's this "if there's going to be another Taste of Annandale next year"?

My husband and I had a great time–we love seeing our community gather together and have fun like that! Yes, we're a small town in an enormous county, but that's no reason to hide ourselves away–and Taste is a wonderful way to get out and shine!

    1. There has to be another Taste of Annandale. We are just getting started. Penny Gross may actually learn something from this event about a thriving commercial environment.

  6. I just wanted to thank you for the beautiful festival yesterday. I'm new to the area and found Taste of Annandale to be a great event. Thank you!
