Taste of Annandale draws thousands

By all accounts, the fifth annual Taste of Annandale yesterday was a big success, drawing thousands of people reflecting the diverse
cultures of Annandale.
It’s impossible to know how many people showed up, as there
was no main entrance and people came and went throughout the day. What we can
say, though, is that it was so crowded at times it was difficult to walk without
bumping into anyone.

There were more food options, sponsors, vendors, and more participants in the 5K race than at any previous Taste of Annandale. The
beer garden and children’s playground were full all day. The entertainment and
best-dressed pet contest drew big crowds.

Families also enjoyed the free dental clinic, police helicopter, law enforcement and public safety displays, and hands-on activities in the
Annandale Pop-Up Park.
The Taste of Annandale was a joint effort of the all-volunteer
Annandale Roundtable, Fairfax County Police Department, Department of
Community and Neighborhood Services, the ACCA Child
Development Center, and Fairfax County Communities of Trust Committee.
Lots of photos will eventually be posted on the Taste of Annandale website
and Facebook page. Meanwhile, here are a few more scenes from the festival:

  1. It was impressive and made me proud. The committee should be thinking of allowing more art and craft booths and expand the cross section of vendors. I just dont know where you would put them. I had a really good Korean dish and learned how they fry Kimchi.

Kudos to the organizers; this is what Annandale is made of!
