Taste of Annandale – FAQ


We’re hoping for a large crowd at the first Taste of Annandale festival, tomorrow, June 13 along Tom Davis Drive in central Annandale. Here’s what you need to know.

Where is Tom Davis Drive? Between Columbia Pike and John
Marr Drive. See map above; click to enlarge it. Did you know this street used to be called Annandale
Center Drive?

Where should I park? Giant will have a designate parking
area for people going to the Taste of Annandale. Kmart has also given
permission for attendee parking.

What is the cost? The event is free. The food vendors have
set their own prices and have been asked to charge $5 to $10.

Where do I go if I’m volunteering? Check in at the volunteer
table. We still need help on the cleanup shift.
Where do I sign up for the 5K Diamond Dash Fun Run?
Registration is onsite only. Check at the Annandale United Methodist Church at
7:45 a.m.
What’s the best time to come to the Taste of Annandale? It’s
going on all day, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. The opening ceremony at 10 a.m. will feature
brief remarks from Rev. Clarence Brown of Annandale United Methodist Church and
chair of the Taste of Annandale Steering Committee, Rep. Gerry Connolly, and
others; and the raffle awarding diamonds to two Diamond Dash registrants.  
What if it rains? The restaurants are bringing their tents
and there will be covered seating areas for guests.
Will alcohol be served? No. Students from Annandale High
School will be selling water and sodas. Oriental Bowl will operate a lemonade
stand.
Will all the restaurants be Korean? No. There will be Middle
Eastern, Latin, American, and other restaurants, too.
Who will be performing? A huge variety of acts are providing
live entertainment, including bands, dancers from various cultures, and much
more.
