The 2019 Taste of Annandale, a community festival on Oct. 5, will offer a diverse selection of dining options that reflect a variety of cultures and cuisines – from empanadas to burgers, tandoori to lobster, and much more.
The full food line-up hasn’t been finalized, but the following vendors have been confirmed.

Red Hook Lobster Pound DC will be joining the festival for the first time this year, offering lobster rolls, shrimp rolls, clam chowder, and lobster mac and cheese. Red Hook owner Doug Povich, with roots in Maine, operates two trucks and a kiosk at the Wharf in D.C.
Other food vendors coming to the Taste of Annandale for the first time include Dave’s Dogs (several varieties of hot dogs, sausages, brats, and more); Ande Charles Slider Bistro (burgers, chicken, salmon, Beyond Burger); 5 Tara (authentic Indian cuisine); Food Fest (Chinese); Two Smooth Dudes (gourmet tots, wraps, and salads), Sunday in Saigon (Vietnamese), and Sunskoo Lee Korean Food
Returning vendors include El Fuego (Peruvian fusion cuisine), Empanadas de Mendoza, Cascade Beverage Co. (nitro coffee and nitro kombucha), Tuk Tuk Kitchen (Thai); and Tapas Truck.
For dessert, District Cupcake will be on hand, as well as Bisnonna Bakeshop, featuring several varieties of cannoli. Want something lighter? Edible Arrangements offers fresh fruit, and Kona Ice will have Hawaiian shaved ice.
Annandale High School will be well represented, with treats prepared by culinary students and a farmers’ market presented by the Annandale High School PTSA.
We’re expecting a few more additions to the food lineup, so check the website for updates.
Save some of your appetite for the chili cook-off, with the Mason District Police Station vs. the Annandale Volunteer Fire Department. Festival-goers can try both types of chili and vote for their favorites. The winner will take home a massive trophy.
The beer garden at the Taste of Annandale will feature two craft microbreweries: Audacious Aleworks Brewery & Taproom and Settle Down Easy Brewing Co.
Of course, the Taste of Annandale is much more than food and drink. There will be live music and dance, a 5K race, an incredible aerial performance by Monarca in Flight, a best-dressed pet contest, children’s entertainment and activities, a law enforcement display featuring the police helicopter, a free photo booth, free dental exams for kids, more activities at the Pop-Up Park, and many vendors.
non of these food vendors are from Annandale? I think it's great that Annandale wants to have n local community event, but they should really change it to something else when all of the tastes aren't from Annandale. I know "tastes" are a thing but it's not accurate to call it "Taste of Annandale" when the vendors are foodtrucks that roam around DC mostly.
We would love to have more Annandale restaurants but it's very challenging to get them to participate.
Ah I see, well I do appreciate the local community event and I do have a good time there. The food trucks there at least, are good. I wonder why the local Annandale places do not want to participate (especially Dice Burger). They are missing a great opportunity to expose their business to folks who come to Annandale and want to see the great varied cuisines that Annandale has to offer.
The local establishments don't show up because they do have any community spirit and just don't care. That is why so many of them go out of business.
