Taxi driver robbed in Lincolnia

A taxi driver was robbed in the early hours of Monday, June 24, in the 6300 block of Wingate Street in Lincolnia, the Mason Police District reports. The victim parked his vehicle, and was opening the trunk when he was approached from behind.

The suspect produced a weapon and demanded his belongings, grabbed the items, and fled. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as male, black, and around 5 feet 10 inches tall and 175 pounds. The investigation revealed that the suspect may have been driving a light blue D.C. cab with a silver stripe painted on both sides.

This appears similar to an incident last week involving a taxi driver who was robbed on Cherokee Avenue by a man who appeared to be driving a taxi.
