Teen charged with abducting and assaulting 5-year-old girl
Police officers from the Franconia Police District arrested a 16-year-old from the Springfield area in connection with the abduction and assault of a 5-year-old girl from her home, Fairfax County Police reported Sept. 15.
That incident occurred in a townhouse in the 7000 block of Brocton Court in Springfield. The occupants had called the police to report a break-in shortly after 4 a.m. on Aug. 27. During the preliminary investigation, it was discovered that an unknown male forced entry into the home, went upstairs, and took the girl from her bed and brought her to an unknown location.
The child made her way back home after being released by the suspect and was taken to a hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The 16-year-old was charged with burglary with intent to commit a felony, abduction with the intent to defile, aggravated malicious wounding, and object sexual penetration. He is being held on a detention order at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center.
He also had been arrested Aug. 31 for a burglary committed on Aug. 24 in the 5800 block of Accomac Street.
