The Coach CJ Celebration is March 3

Previous scholarship winners.

You’re all invited: The fourth annual Coach CJ Celebration is
Saturday, March 3, in the Annandale Volunteer Fire Department’s social hall, 7128
Columbia Pike.

This family-friendly fundraiser, 7-10 p.m., features food, dancing
with a DJ, and a silent auction.

The event raises money for college scholarships for students
at Falls Church High School. Annandale resident Nancy Joyner established the
Team Joyner Foundation to memorialize her son, Clayton Joyner, a Falls Church
High School graduate, former swim coach at the school, and former swim coach at the
Holmes Run Pool, who died in 2014.
The foundation has so far funded 16 scholarships to help
needy students attend Northern Virginia Community College. Two more
scholarships will be awarded after the Coach CJ Celebration.
The silent auction will include
gift cards for local restaurants and a veterinarian clinic, memberships to the Holmes
Run and Broyhill Crest pools, dozens of gift baskets, a private dinner for
eight people, autographed sports items, and much more. The event includes hors
d’oeuvres, craft beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, dessert, and coffee.
Tickets are $25 per person and $15 for youths under 21. The
family rate is $100. Tickets are available at the door or pay in advance via PayPal
to
[email protected].

Additional donations to the Team Joyner Foundation, a
501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, are appreciated. Tax-deductible contributions
