The fifth annual Taste of Annandale set for Oct. 5

Crowds converge on Tom Davis Drive for the 2018 Taste of Annandale.

The Taste of Annandale has gotten bigger and better every year. This year’s festival, Oct. 5, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Tom Davis Drive, promises to be the biggest one yet.

There will be live entertainment all day, a 5K race, restaurants, food trucks, special performances for children, a beer garden, chili cook-off, a best-dressed pet contest, and vendors.

More than 5,000 people attended the Taste of Annandale last year. It was so crowded, in fact, that we’re working on a plan to provide more space.

Anyone interested in participating in the 2019 Taste of Annandale – as a sponsor, food vendor, other vendor, or entertainer – should contact Bob Kahane, chair of the Taste of Annandale Planning Committee, at [email protected].

For local business owners and organizations, becoming a sponsor of the Taste of Annandale is a great way to attract new customers and enhance your reputation as a leader in the community.

There are three levels of sponsorships: Platinum, Gold, and Silver.

Platinum Sponsors will have their company’s name and logo on all marketing materials, banners, signs, and posters; will have a 20 by 10-foot booth with table, chairs, and tent during the festival, a chance to make a presentation on the stage, and much more.

The application deadline for sponsors is Aug. 16, but the sooner you sign up, the more opportunities you’ll have to be included on all the promotional materials. Visit the sponsorship page on the Taste of Annandale website for more information.

No more than two Platinum and 25 Gold sponsors will be approved. These sponsors will receive the best locations at the festival.

Just Neighbors, an organization based in Annandale that provides legal services to immigrants, has already signed on as a Silver Sponsor.

Proceeds from the Taste of Annandale will support the Re-Imagining Community initiative, in which high school students use art and poetry for community engagement. This program is a partnership of the Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services, Mason District Police Station, and the George Mason University School of Art.

  1. Hopefully this year, some representation from central Annandale restaurants. The only food options there were food trucks that have nothing to do with Annandale when it's not Taste of Annandale, and Kabobistan which is in Annandale, but not central Annandale.

    1. That's my hope too–has been from Year One. Though there have been a few local restaurants at previous Tastes, I'm curious to know what (if?) the TOA planning committee is doing to attract Annandale restaurants this year.
