The beer garden at this year’s Taste of Annandale will feature the Caboose Brewing Co.
The Taste of Annandale, a free community festival, is on April 29 along Tom Davis Drive.
Caboose will bring a portable tap system with four to six different kinds of beers, says general manager Samantha Schutte.
The company operates the Caboose Commons brewery and café on Eskridge Road in Merrifield across the street from the Mosaic District, and Caboose Tavern, a brewpub and restaurant in Vienna.
“We love working with various groups in the community,” Schutte says. “The Taste of Annandale is a great opportunity for Caboose.”
She isn’t sure yet which beers Caboose will bring to the festival.
The brewery’s most popular year-round beer is a middle-of-the-road amber lager called Vienna VA Lager. The Fog IPA, a hazy IPA, is always available, too.
Caboose has a beer for everyone’s taste – from pilsners to sours to Belgian-style ales – plus unusual beers like an orange creamsicle sour.
“We’re always experimenting,” Schutte says. “There’s always lots of new stuff.”
This spring, Caboose plans to release a cherry Maibock that’s been aged in a bourbon barrel for a full year.
Very exciting! I do hope the police have a better presence in that parking lot.
I have to commit myself to support the community development! it is great to be connected.
