Police are on the lookout for a couple of thieves who stole a purse Dec. 22 with credit cards and a large amount of cash from the AnnSandra gift shop at 4417 John Marr Drive in Annandale.
According to Det. Matt Bestick of the Fairfax County Police Department’s Franconia police station, the purse belonged to an employee and was in a storage area in the back of the store. The thieves, wanted for grand larceny and credit card theft, were wandering around the employee-only area looking for something to steal.
After leaving the store, they used one of the credit cards at a Shell station at 3401 King St., Alexandria.
The male suspect is described as black, approximately 50 years old, and around 5 feet 9 inches tall. He has a gold tooth. The female suspect is black, approximately 30 years old, and around 5 feet 6 inches.
Bestick believes the man matches the description of a suspect wanted for shoplifting at grocery stores in Kingstowne and the Falls Church area of Fairfax County.
UPDATE: The FCPD released a video of the suspects Jan. 10.
