This week’s crime: a shooting, robbery, and burglaries

The Fairfax County Police Department reports the following crimes in the Annandale/Mason District area in the past week: 

  • There was a shooting
    on Bellview Drive at Glen Carlyn Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads at 11:30 p.m. on
    June 24. The victim was walking near the intersection, heard gunshots from
    behind him, and was struck in the arm. The victim was treated at the hospital
    for injuries not considered life threatening.
     

  • Marathon Gas, at 5652 Columbia Pike in
    Bailey’s Crossroads was burglarized shortly before 
    3:25 a.m. on June 21. Someone forced entry into
    the business and took property.
  •  On June 20, someone forced entry into
    the Shell gas station at 5842 Columbia Pike at about 3 a.m. and left without taking property.
  •  There was a robbery at 10:40 a.m. on
    the 3400 block of Charles Street on June 22. A man approached the victim with a
    knife and demanded cash and property before running away.
  •  Mason Crest Elementary School in Annandale
    was vandalized during the night of June 21.  School employees contacted police after
    finding graffiti on a basketball court.
