Tortilla & Company coming to Annandale
A carryout Latino eatery is expected to open within the next
few weeks at 7258 Columbia Pike, Annandale. Tortilla & Company is taking
the spot vacated when New York Pizza Factory moved next door. (It’s now called
New York Pizza Factory Plus, reflecting an expanded menu.)

Tortilla & Company will offer a mix of items from
different countries, such as pupusas from El Salvador, tacos and quesadillas
from Mexico, baleadas from Honduras, and rotisserie chicken from Peru, says
owner Vix Gomez.
The restaurant will have carryout, pickup, and delivery
service, but no indoor seating. As a result, the interior of the building doesn’t
need an extensive renovation.

This is the first business venture for Gomez, a former
Annandale resident who now lives in Woodbridge, although he and his brother
have worked at El Pollo Sabroso in the Mt. Pleasant area of Washington, D.C.

We got dinner from there tonight. It was delicious and very authentic! Really looking forward to having this restaurant up and running here in Annandale!
