Toy donations needed for children at Bailey’s Elementary School
Bailey’s Elementary School needs your help. The PTA is asking people of the community to chip in and provide holiday assistance to the school’s
needy children.
needy children.
Bailey’s is the largest elementary school in Fairfax County—and
possibly the state of Virginia—with approximately 1,300 students, including
about 300 homeless children and 800 who qualify for free or reduced-price
meals. In the past, Bailey’s PTA has been fortunate to partner with Toys for Tots
to provide assistance to 130 to 150 families during the holidays but that foundation is overburdened and cannot give the school any toys
this year.

The PTA is still hoping to help 75 of the neediest families
and is asking people to drop off new, unwrapped toys, grocery cards, or gift cards
in any denomination. Monetary donations are also accepted. Donations may be
dropped off at the Bailey’s front office at 6111 Knollwood Drive in Falls
Church by Dec. 12. For more information, contact PTA President Trisch Aust, 703/946-7634.
