Navy Federal Credit Union and Pearle Vision opened in Barcroft Plaza Aug. 12.
Navy Federal only serves active members of the military, military family members, veterans, and employees of the Department of Defense.

Navy Federal has 8 million members and 336 branches worldwide, including 35 in the D.C. area, and plans to open 20 new branches a year.
The Navy Federal branch in the Annandale Shopping Center will stay open “for the foreseeable future. There are no plans to close it,” said Executive Vice President Steve Romano, regional manager for branch operations, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new store. A single management team will run both branches.
The new Pearle Vision shop sells eyeglasses for adults and kids. There’s currently a 40 percent off sale on lenses, says manager Elleni Gebremariam.
There will be an eye doctor on site to conduct vision tests on certain days, or customers can bring a lens prescription.
Frames range from $100 to $500. Popular brands include Ray Ban, Oakley, Prada, Vogue, Versace, Armani Exhange, Tory Burch, and Nike.
Pearle also offers free glasses cleaning and adjustments.
So odd that the credit union has two locations within a mile of each other.
