Two men arrested for robbery in Annandale
Two people were robbed by three men at about 12:17 a.m., Jan. 12, in the 7400 block of Englewood Place, Annandale, in the Parliaments apartment complex, the Fairfax County Police Department reports. The two victims were standing on the sidewalk when approached by three men. The suspects threatened the victims, took property, and fled on foot. There were no injuries.
Police caught two of the them and charged Jarrell K. Antwi, 27, of Alexandria, and Christopher Mitchell, 26, of Annandale, with two counts of robbery and one count of assault. The third suspect got away. He was described as Asian, in his 20s, and heavy set.
Beating our esteemed no-nothing commenter to the punch, let's call on the U.S. Postal Service to take these alleged robbers and "return them to sender."
Even the dedicated Liberals who read this blog must acknowledge if these individuals are in the USA illegally, under Obama the USPS is as likely to remove these individuals from the USA as the Department of Homeland Security.
Of course, the reality is these individuals are simply misunderstood, and were simply soliciting for donations for their cause. The new year brings with it tidings of "Hope and Change."
Finally, to the commenter who is a retired Postal employee – this message is not an insult of Postal Service employees, go look somewhere else to find offensive comments.
You should use Fed Ex. That way they might actually be returned.
^^ ZING
Better yet, return to sender w/out a return address. If that doesn't work they could be put in a drone with just enough fuel to get halfway across the Atlantic Ocean.
Who knew all this politically incorrect sentiment existed in the heart of a District dominated by Democrats and Federal employees, retirees, and contractors.
What happened to innocent until proven guilty before a court of law by a jury of their peers.
Oh please the color of crap is crap. And these people are crap and need to be returned to sender. Party affiliation does not dictate civility or a need for secure borders and neighborhoods.
If the existing laws were better enforced perhaps the crap would not end up in the bottom of the barrel, i.e. Annandale/Mason District!
It's this xenophobia that doesn't belong in our wonderfully diverse community. Worried about crime? Have you joined or started a Neighborhood Watch? Those of us who have them have very little crime in our communities.
Huh?
Has anyone else noticed that in the last year stories like these are happening more often in the Mason District. We need new leadership.
Yes, others have noticed.
What do you want "new leadership" to do different?
Enforce the laws of our County and not sweep the problems under the rug.
That's ironic when Mason District is full of Feds, and it is well-known the Feds are not enforcing the immigration laws (except for the new laws issued by Executive Memorandum by Obama).
If the Feds refuse to enforce the immigration laws why should Feds expect the elected officials where they live to "enforce the laws."
The Feds are not better than the American citizens they are paid to serve and they don't deserve preferential treatment.
I am not talking strictly about immigration laws but about how many people can live in a dwelling.
liberal dems. run almost all of Fairfax county now. don't expect crime to drop with them in power. They promote section 8 housing and 'diversity"
I've also noticed an increase of MS-13 graffiti around Annandale, Lincolnia, etc. I've taken pictures of some of them. This seem to start after thousands of illegal teenagers were let in the country early last year. A bunch of them ended up in VA. Hmmm coincidence?? Our government suppose to be looking out for its citizens
They are looking out for the citizens just not the US citizens.
Judging my their names the two robbers who were caught are either white or African American, likely the latter. I doubt they are illegal aliens.
I live in the Parliaments Apartments and actually I have never had any problems with Hispanics in the area.
I was threatened by a crazy young pandhandler at the seven eleven across from the Parliaments. He was African American.
I agree that it would be nice if immigration laws were enforced but that doesn't stop crime from happening…we're going to have this in Mason District for the rest of our lives – this is the community in which we call home. And you know what, other communities that are much richer than ours can also have this problem. People get robbed – that's why we have police.
