Two robberies in Bailey’s Crossroads
The Fairfax County Police Department reports a couple of robberies happened in weekend in the Bailey’s
Crossroads area, and there was a police pursuit in Seven Corners.

A 20-year-old man was walking
alone on the 3400 block of Glen
Carlyn Drive at about 10:17 p.m. on Dec. 19, when another man approached, punched
him, knocked him to the ground, and took his wallet. The victim sustained minor
injuries. The suspect fled on foot. He was described as black, about 5 feet 8
inches tall, with dreadlocks, and was wearing all-black clothing.

On
Dec. 20, a 19-year-old man walking alone on a sidewalk by the Courtland Drive/Washington
Drive intersection at about 2 p.m. when an SUV approached from behind and
stopped next to him. A man got out of the right front passenger seat with a
knife in his hand, threatened the victim, and demanded money. The suspect then
rummaged through the victim’s pockets and stole his wallet and cell phone, jumped
back into the SUV, and fled.

victim sustained minor injuries. The suspect was described as Hispanic, about 5
feet 6 inches tall, and around 140 pounds. He was wearing a gray, hooded
sweatshirt, a gray beanie, and blue jeans. The driver of the SUV was described
as a Hispanic female, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and around 130 pounds, with
red hair. She was wearing gold stud earrings and black pants.

Chevrolet Cruz being driven in a reckless manner at about 11:10 p.m. by the
Route 50/Patrick Henry Drive intersection. The officer attempted a traffic
stop, but the Cruze failed to stop and there was a brief pursuit that ended
at the Arlington County line.

short time later, officers from the Arlington County Police Department located
the vehicle stopped in the roadway, apparently out of gas. The driver Shayla
Perkins, 25, of Washington, D.C., fled on foot, leaving her husband and two children in the vehicle. She was quickly apprehended and was charged with driving
while intoxicated with a child passenger, speed to elude, and refusal to submit
to a breath test.

It seems lately that alot of arrest are happening because people from DC and MD crossed the river to hang out in Bailey's Crossroads/ Seven Corners area.
It also appears there is many more crimes happening in that area as well.
It appears to me that the County Supervisor does not want to make Bailey's a more attractive, viable area to live in. Thus, bringing in the criminal aspect.
