VDOT to close lane across Route 50

The northbound lane on the bridge over Route 50 west of Route 7 in Seven Corners will be closed Sept. 19-Oct. 7, the Virginia Department of Transportation reports.

That lane connects the eastbound Route 50 service road with the westbound Route 50 service road. It will be closed for cleaning and painting, beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday.

Northbound connector road bridge traffic will be detoured via the eastbound service road and Route 7 to the westbound service road.

The southbound lane of the connector road bridge will remain open at all times.  

Lane closures on Route 50 may occur from Sept. 19 through Oct. 7 during the following days and times: 

• Mondays through Thursdays: 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
• Fridays: 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
• Friday nights: 10 p.m.-9 a.m.
• Saturday nights: 10 p.m.-8 a.m.
• Sunday nights: 10 p.m.-5 a.m.
