VDOT will repave dozens of roads in Annandale and Seven Corners

The roads in red will be repaved in 2021.

The Virginia Department of Transportation will repave hundreds of roads in Fairfax County between April and November.

Roads on VDOT’s repaving agenda in the Annandale/Mason District area are concentrated in these neighborhoods: Holmes Run Acres, Masonville, Sleepy Hollow, Lee Boulevard Heights, Mantua, and Strathmeade Springs. Access the VDOT 2021 repaving map here.

In subdivisions, “no parking” signs will be posted at least three business days before the work starts. Cars, basketball hoops, and garbage cans may need to be temporarily relocated while the work is underway. Crews typically work on neighborhood streets on weekdays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Fairfax County Department of Transportation collaborates with VDOT on restriping projects during the paving process to improve traffic safety. This year, however, no restriping projects are planned in Mason District.

  1. Great for all the streets being redone. But wait a second…the very rough part of Sleepy Hollow going north between Bay Tree and Valleybrook as well as Valleybrook near Sleepy Hollow are not being included??

    1. pretty much the length of sleepy hollow got repaved a few years back. Before it was repaved, it was 3rd world bad. It is no where near that bad now even in its roughest spots. Hopefully VDOT doesn’t let it get that bad again, but I doubt they will repave until after the planned sidewalk and utility work has been done, which doesn’t start until next year if I recall.
