Virginia state trooper strikes pedestrian in Annandale
A Virginia State Police trooper struck a pedestrian in Annandale around 2:41 a.m. Saturday, April 26, according to news reports. The woman, a 25-year-old Annandale resident, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police didn’t release the names of the victim or the trooper.
The police officer was reportedly exiting from the northbound lanes of the beltway onto the Braddock Road ramp when the woman ran into the roadway. The trooper swerved but was unable to avoid hitting her. The trooper stopped and helped her until an ambulance arrived.
State police say they also found a man nearby and are investigating the incident to determine what caused the woman to run into the roadway.
Something seems fishy here. Why was she out at 2:41am running across a major road.
