Sandra Irene Cortes of Annandale, age 53, was charged with three counts of grand larceny, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.

Woman Given 3 Years for Animal Cruelty

A Prince William County judge has sentenced a woman convicted of cruelty to more than two dozen dogs to three years and three months in jail and ordered that she not have any contact with animals for 10 years.
Sandra I. Cortes of Annandale was convicted last year of 27 counts of animal cruelty, after she neglected and abused animals she kept at a Manassas house that billed itself as an animal rescue operation.
Cortes was sentenced Dec. 29 by Judge Peter W. Steketee in Prince William County General District Court. She was also ordered to pay more than $13,000 in restitution to the county and one of the dog owners.

  2. How do you find out if she actually served time for the conviction of animal cruelty? Did she appeal the conviction? How do you find out if her appeal was successful?

  3. This disgusting woman was convicted for animal cruelty and stole from the church. Now she recently lost her kid. Karma has a way of getting you, doesn't it??
