World Series commemorative merch on sale here
The Washington Nationals’ World Series win is not only a mood-booster for the D.C. region, it’s an opportunity to cash in by enterprising entrepreneurs.
A case in point is the makeshift stand selling Nats merchandise in front of the Discount Zone gas station at 6401 Columbia Pike by the Lincolnia Road intersection.
Hoodies are the most popular item, says vendor Anna Schwartz, and they’ve also got T-shirts, sweatshirts, pennants, posters, keychains, magnets, jewelry – even bibs and onesies for babies. The stand is open from about 9 a.m. to 7 or 8 p.m. seven days a week. Anna and her partner are hoping to sell enough World Series merch to make the $50 rental fee charged by the gas station worthwhile.
They also operate World Series stands at five other temporary locations in the area, including one by the Hobby Lobby on Little River Turnpike.
All fully licensed and authorized gear… right??
