You have been warned: Don’t drink and drive

The Fairfax County Police Department has announced it will be conducting “sobriety checkpoints” Thursday, Aug. 3, in Falls Church, and Friday, Aug. 4 in Seven Corners. Both checkpoints are scheduled for 11 p.m.-2 a.m.

  1. Why are these done so infrequently? How about a crackdown on texting! The worst example was a tablet taped to the steering wheel!!

    1. DUI checkpoints are infrequent because stopping drivers indiscriminately is a huge waste of time. More often, they merely result in the issuance of a few tickets for minor unrelated traffic infractions.
