Your guide to holiday craft fairs

It’s November, and you know what that means: Holiday shopping season is upon us. Avoid the crowds at the malls and the impersonal online experience and get out and meet your neighbors at a local holiday craft bazaar. Here are some upcoming events in the Annandale/Mason District area where you’re sure to find some unique gifts:
Nov. 3 – Christmas Attic Craft Fair and Silent Auction, St. Anthony of Padua School, 3301 Glen Carlyn Road, Bailey’s Crossroads, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. More than 50 crafters, children’s activities, international cafe, Christmas bakery, grill, and beer garden.
Nov. 3 – Christmas Bazaar, Annandale United Methodist Church, 6935 Columbia Pike, Annandale, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. More than 40 crafters, bake sale, café, used book sale, free tours of the Historic Little White Church.
Nov. 10 – St. Barnabas’ Episcopal Church, 4801 Ravensworth Road, Annandale, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Handmade Christmas crafts, wreaths, trees, ornaments, knitted items, dolls, paintings and pottery by St. Barnabas’ artists, gently used costume and estate jewelry, baked goods, and preserves. Raffle featuring wine basket, pet items, and plants. Lunch available at noon.
Nov. 16-17 – St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, 8617 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. More than 45 crafters, baked goods, lunch.
Nov. 17 – St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 6800 Columbia Pike, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. White elephants, baked goods, Christmas decorations, jewelry, toys, books, tools. For the kids: face painting and photos with Santa. Breakfast and lunch sales.
Dec. 1-2 – Holiday Arts and Crafts Show, Audrey Moore RECenter, 8100 Braddock Road, Annandale, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Top-quality handmade arts and crafts by nearly 100 artisans. Door prizes. General admission is $2; children 12 and under free.
Dec. 1 – City of Falls Church Annual Holiday Gift and Craft Show, Falls Church Community Center, 223 Little Falls St., 9 a.m.-4 p.m. More than 50 crafters and merchants, handmade items and baked goods, lunch with Santa. Children’s holiday shop at Cherry Hill Farmhouse with inexpensive holiday gift and volunteers to help with free wrapping.
