There’s a new place for Middle Eastern cuisine in Annandale:
Yummy Kabob opened last week at 3340 Gallows Road, just outside the beltway. It’s
open for lunch and dinner, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

Menu highlights include beef or chicken shawarma platters with
basmati rice, fattoush, yogurt sauce, and bread ($10.95); chicken kabobs ($10.95);
salmon or shrimp kabobs ($14.95); falafel sandwich ($7); the Yummy Salad with
mixed greens, goat cheese, grape tomatoes, Kalamata olives, and pomegranate
vinaigrette ($5 or $8); stewed lentils or chickpeas ($4); vegetarian or meat
somosas ($5.75); and baklava ($3).

Terrible location for a restaurant — hard to get to from northbound Gallows Road, and practically invisible from the street — will likely fail unless they somehow manage to make a successful delivery business.
It is a horrible location but I hope they succeed. We need more restaurants in the area for the neighborhood. They will need to really market to the neighborhood and FFX Hospital emloyees. It would be great if they decide to offer delivery to the area.
That's a really good point, if they can get a good lunch business going, they might be able to make it.
I drove by and there was a wonderful aroma. That's the best advertising.
If you guys like the place, review them on yelp, etc. Free advertising (good or bad).
The food was good, but there are 8 spaces for the entire restaurant, and I think the staff takes them all. Signs regarding parking on streets abutting the restaurant are ambiguous.
My wife and I visited Yummy Kabob for the first time last night. The staff were very nice especially the manager Eyad Issa.. We got the Grilled Marinated Chicken Kabob with Chic Peas. The cook took great care in his placement of the pieces of chicken on the rice which made a lovely presentation. The chicken pieces were very large and very tender and flavorful. The Chic Peas were also very good. There were two kinds of rice which my wife said could have been more flavorful. Maybe adding some Sumac to the rice would do the trick. The bread was warm and tasty also. The salad dressing needed some help so I put some of the accompanying white sauce (not sure what that was but it was good) on the salad which made it better. The ingredients were a good mix of cucumber, tomatoes, onion and some sort of greens. The green yogurt sauce was very tasty. The problem I see is the difficulty in getting there and the other is the parking. With the limited parking I fear people will drive away and go somewhere else. The restaurant says it has seating for 54, I’m pretty sure there are not enough parking spaces for 54 patrons. Regardless it’s worth a visit and my wife and I will be returning.
If you can get to the Exxon or the 7-11, no problem getting to Yummy Kabob, really! Had an excellent meal there yesterday, will definitely return and will use the delivery service I'm sure. They should think about running a daily dinner and lunch special to get the local crowd going there on a regular basis. Fresh healthy food, what a concept. Now all they need is a little aggressive marketing to make it a "go to" place here in Annandale. We need more places like this. Really enjoyed the food.
