Man arrested for shooting inside a bar
Officers with the Mason Police District arrested a man for shooting a gun in a crowded bar in Bailey’s Crossroads.
According to the Fairfax County Police Department, Abdulkerim Halid, 25, of Arlington, got into a dispute with a group of men in the Lion’s Den Lounge at 5820 Seminary Road at about 4 a.m. on July 16.
Detectives determined Halid displayed a firearm and discharged two rounds into the ground. Two women were injured from bullet fragments and debris. They were taken to a nearby hospital for injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
Halid was identified as the shooter, but he left the scene before the police arrived. Detectives obtained two warrants for reckless handling of a firearm.
Mason patrol officers and detectives from the Fugitive and Apprehension Unit found Halid July 25 in the City of Alexandria. With help from the Alexandria Police Department, Halid was arrested without incident and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He is being held without bond.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about this incident or others to call the Mason Police District Criminal Investigations Division at 703-256-8035. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Solvers.
This gunman is a menace in Northern Virginia. I hope he spends the rest of his life in prison when he’s sentenced.
That entire stretch of business off Seminary Rd between Columbia Pike and Scoville St needs to be bulldozed.
