Adam Wise, a conservative who characterizes himself as a constitutional scholar, has launched a campaign for the 11th District in the Virginia House of Delegates.

Wise has been endorsed by the Fairfax County Republican Committee. He will face the Democratic candidate, Gretchen Bulova, in a special election on Jan. 13. Bulova won a Democratic Primary earlier this month. The 11th District includes the City of Fairfax and parts of Fairfax County.

Wise ran unsuccessfully for the District 11 seat in November. The Democratic incumbent, David Bulova, was re-elected, but subsequently resigned after Gov.-Elect Abigail Spanberger appointed him Virginia’s Secretary of Natural Resources.

Wise is a certified firearms instructor at Guns-n-Gear in Fairfax and a Krav Maga self-defense teacher. He graduated from Woodson High School, earned a bachelor’s degree from George Mason University, and a Master of Divinity from Liberty University.

Adams’ priorities include reducing taxes, eliminating wasteful government programs, restoring state sovereignty, supporting free market policies over government intervention, eliminating regulatory barriers to economic growth, and keeping “woke ideology” out of schools.

According to the bio on his campaign website, “Outside of the formal classroom, Adam has spent years studying the Founding Fathers, the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, American history, and the proper role of government.”

  1. Why bother? For many residents, a “D” after a candidate’s name is the primary qualification when voting for a Fairfax County District Supervisor. At this point, adding one more inept member won’t change outcomes, just the entertainment value of the Board of Supervisors’ decisions.

    1. Or looking at it from a different angle, an “R” behind a candidate’s name is a primary disqualification for a lot of voters. Maybe once the Orange poison is purged from the party for good and some sanity is restored, this won’t be the case.

      1. Precisely, good ol’ Arthur acts like the vast majority of folks don’t automatically vote based off party (on both sides) as opposed to the candidate. If this area was majority republican, I am sure his comments would be vastly different.
