All-Star swim meet is huge success
Hundreds of swimmers and their parents converged at Broyhill Crest pool Aug. 1 for the Northern Virginia Swimming League Individual All-Stars.
It was the first time the Broyhill Crest Recreation Club hosted such a large event, and it was a huge success, thanks to the many hours of planning and work put in by Linda Manning, Dan and Maria Gushue, Doug Mueller, Pam Benson, and many, many other volunteers.
The NVSL reports that several NVSL records were broken during the meet:
–Amanda Kendall of the Kings Ridge pool completed the 15-18 Girls 50-Meter Freestyle with a time of 26.42 seconds and completed the 15-18 Girls 50-Meter Butterfly in 28.52.
–Sineed Eksteen of Shouse Village set an NVSL record for the third time this season by completing the 8&U Girls 25-Meter Backstroke with a time of 18.18.
–Sean Fletcher of Hunter Mill set an NVSL record for the 15th time by completing the 15-18 Boys 100-Meter Individual Medley in 57.40.
