Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam today announced that all individuals in Virginia age 16 and older will be eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine starting on April 18. That’s ahead of the nationwide May 1 goal set by President Joe Biden.
With over 3.7 million doses of vaccine administered so far in Virginia, more than one in three adults have received at least one dose and one in five Virginians are fully vaccinated.
Fairfax County plans to open registration for Phase 1c early next week and transition to Phase 2 by April 18. Phase 1c includes all essential workers not previously identified and Phase 2 is all adults age 16 and older.

I’m excited that we can continue to open eligibility and vaccinate even more people.”
