Amazon Fresh could open in late 2022
Amazon Fresh is expected to open at the Crossroads Center in Bailey’s Crossroads by the end of the year, says a representative of the shopping center.
The 40,000-square-foot grocery store will allow customers to avoid checkout lines by having their purchases automatically scanned.

Lease negotiations are underway for a retail tenant in the vacant 21,000-square foot space next to the future Amazon Fresh. Both spaces were formerly occupied by a Safeway.
Another tenant is under negotiation for the space formerly occupied by the A.C. Moore arts and craft store at the Crossroads Center.
That space is temporarily occupied by a Spirit Halloween store specializing in costumes and spooky decorations. Another Spirit Halloween is coming to a former Office Depot at 3536 S. Jefferson St. in Bailey’s Crossroads.

Finally, a retail grocer for quick pic ups that carry nutritional foods of which many are organic. Hope they have a good array of healthy prepared foods.
I was very unimpressed with the Amazon fresh they just opened in Crystal City, (selection was poor, shelves rather empty for a brand new store) but that is a much smaller store than this one appears to be.
(Also not sure how Amazon expects to do any better, business wise, than the Safeway that was there, but Bezos is indeed rich and I am not)
Is there a reason that this particular Amazon Fresh is taking so long? I thought the original estimates were February 2022, then May 2022.
Its coconut cream pie at $8.99 is fantastic
Has Amazon had a change of interest in opening the Crossroads store?

It’s now March of 2023. When is this really going to happen?
