Annandale home prices up 18 percent over last year

Average home prices in Annandale are up 18 percent from this time last year, reports Vivianne Couts of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Fairfax.

In October, the average home in zip code 22003 sold for $352,239, compared to $298,343 in October 2009. The median price of homes sold during that period rose 24.7 percent from $290,000 to $361,600. The average list price of homes sold in Annandale was up 23.36 percent, from $309,773 in October 2009 to $382,145 in October 2010.

Fewer homes were sold last October (46) than October a year ago (63), however. And homes haven’t been selling faster. Last month, homes spent an average of 50 days on the market, compared to 48 days in October 2009.
