Annandale shop offers specialty food products from Korea
A new shop in Annandale specializes in high-end, organic food imported from Korea.
Danuri is located at 4231 Markham St. in Seoul Plaza.
Peter Lee, the owner of the Stone Tofu House closed that restaurant last July and opened Danuri in that space in December.
The new shop offers traditional Korean products made by small specialty companies in Korea that are not available in local Asian grocery stores, Lee says.
He noted the store carries red chili pepper paste from a Korean company that’s been in operation for 75 years and cookies made by a nationally certified cookie master.
The shelves are stocked with such items as Korean melon with sweet grapefruit jam, plum persimmon vinegar, and ginger candy. There are also many kinds of dried mushrooms, dried seaweed, marinated frozen fish, crab legs, spices, and much more.
The shop also provides a delivery service for ready-to-eat meals.
