Annandale traffic in real time

Annandale blog readers Kate and Jeff Howard put together time-lapse videos for rush hour traffic patterns in Annandale.

The Howards, the team behind Hotels Near DC Metro, did the videos for a five-day period between 2 and 7 p.m. a few weeks ago when there were no snowstorms or other bad weather. The video shown here is for a Wednesday.

“Since we advocate using the Metro, we thought this would be a fun way to promote public transit usage around Annandale and Washington, D.C.,” said Kate. “It is interesting to see the times in which traffic spikes quickly. I’ve sat in that myself enough times, so it’s interesting to see it from a different perspective.”
