The City of Alexandria is considering a rezoning proposal to facilitate the development of an apartment building at 6101 and 6125 Stevenson Avenue in the Landmark area.

The new development would replace an aging office building and a surface parking lot.

The application was submitted by the property owner, SP Stevenson LLC, and its sole managing member, Snell Construction Corp.

The project would consist of a seven-story building with 270 units and a parking garage with 340 spaces. There would be two courtyards for use by residents.

The apartments would replace this office building at 1601 Stevenson Ave.

The building would have a mix of one and two-bedroom units, including 26 units affordable to households with incomes up to 60 percent of the area median income.

It would be located between the Olympus Condominiums and Landmark Towers.

The Alexandria Planning Commission has scheduled a hearing on the proposal for June 4.

  1. Amen! So many apartments in Alexandria have so many illegal problems, rats, rats, gangs of rats. The community I stuck in now had played the new carpet over the rat holes ! The rental property is aware however they don’t care. But yet I have to pay over$2300.00 amouth here at Stoneridge apts the lady and apartment I lived in had a peeping Tom that lived over my apartment. She had been there for 30 years. I reported to the police and rental off. Come to find out it was an attic crawl space there for 80 years. Also the county bldg inspect was notified and they said it was nothing wrong. The lady was watching folks through the bathroom vent over the tub. This was the only vent in the entire apartment . I have a picture with her behind the wall
