Audrey Moore pool to temporarily close

The pool at the Audrey Moore Rec Center will be closed from Monday, Aug. 18, to Sunday, Sept. 14, for deep system cleaning and maintenance.

This happens every two years, the Fairfax County Park Authority announced.

The Park Authority notes that membership is valid at any Fairfax County Park Authority Rec Center and encourages people to visit alternative pools.

The Franconia Rec Center pool will be closed Aug. 18-Sept. 5, as that facility is undergoing improvements. Several other Rec Center pools will also be temporarily closed.

“We appreciate your patience and understanding as our team works hard to complete this necessary work quickly and efficiently,” says Marc Barton, aquatics section manager for the Park Authority.
